What to do in Alexandra

The town of Alexandra is Central Otago’s business and political capital. It is situated at the conjunction of two rivers, the Manuherikia and the mighty Clutha. Enjoy Alexandra’s eateries, parks, artists’ studios, craft markets and modern facilities. Fish in the Manuherikia River or wallow in its many swimming holes.

It’s easy to get around Alexandra. Alexandra has a wide array of shops including New World supermarket and The Warehouse. Check out the museum, historic bridge, tour old gold diggings and gold pan at old tailings sites. Don’t miss the annual blossom festival if you are around in late September or the Food and Wine Festival around Easter in Clyde.
